A D Horner Limited Land and Measured Building Surveyors Celebrating 25 Years

December saw a milestone in the history of A D Horner Limited with us reaching our milestone 25th anniversary. From our first land survey in Redditch back in 1990 we have now undertaken over 4500 land or measured building surveys in the last 25 years.

We still take pleasure in turning old and unloved dwellings into shiny desirable ones again, through our expertise in measured building surveys.  Whenever driving our surveyors are always keen to point out  – ‘We did that survey’ to their long suffering families !

We are big watchers of various property programmes on TV so it is always great to see a project or architect that we have worked with featured. Last night we saw Nature In Art featured on Countryfile, where  we have undertaken both measured building and land survey work. It was great to see what fantastic work they undertake.

We would like to think we have spent the last 25 years helping to make dreams come true !

New Year – new land surveys in Worcestershire, Gloucestershire and Hereford

Not that with some of the recent weather you could tell where we are. Clearly the reasons staff wear hi-vis clothing is so they can find each other on site…..

Worcester land survey

January has seen us off to a flying start with lots of local land and measured building surveys, plus the odd trip out further afield, to London and Surrey.

Our Devon office continues to grow in size and reputation, with orders received from as far away as Australia. We have been busy so far this year with land and measured building surveys in Plymouth, Exeter and our usual lovely haunts like Hope, Wembury, Salcombe and Totnes.

Still at least it’s not raining……..

Land Surveys In Gloucestershire – hospitals, racecourses and boarding schools !

Well it has just about stopped raining for now at least. Our office in Pershore got even closer to the River Avon once more.

This is the main road which runs from Worcester to Evesham through Pershore.  On this particular morning a large detour was required !

Thankfully the rain has not slowed us down too much and we have been busy  working on lots of measured land and building surveys in Gloucestershire this month for some well  known clients, notably Cheltenham Ladies  College and Cheltenham Racecourse.

Another first for us was to measure a MRI scanning room in The Gloucester Royal Hospital, where we had to liaise closely with the client to achieve the work outside normal scanning hours. The beauty of life as a measurement surveyor is that you really do get to go to some very interesting places (and then measure them !)

Gloucestershire here we come – land surveyors in Gloucestershire

Fortunately many of our surveyors live in Gloucestershire, as a lot of our recent work for our Pershore office has been in and around Gloucestershire. Sometimes land surveyors go to lovely places and measure architecturally interesting buildings….and sometimes they don’t, but at least hopefully in their wake they will be redevelopment and an improvement in the surroundings. Below are two buildings at either end of the spectrum when it comes to producing elevation drawings, both of which we have measured in the last few weeks, but we are as happy drawing simple elevations as more ornate ones. So if you need a land survey or a measured building survey in Gloucester, Cheltenham or the rest of the county you know who to call.

Land Surveyors in Gloucestershire

A D Horner Limited, Land and Measured Building Surveyors have been busy in own own home patches of Worcestershire and Gloucestershire recently, undertaking large and small land surveys for garden design, construction, housing developments and local authority flood relief type land surveys. From Tewkesbury to Cheltenham, Gloucester to Tetbury there are not many towns and villages in the last twenty years that we have not been to, either to undertake land surveys or measured building surveys – there are plenty of lovely cottages, historic houses (like the beautiful Wallsworth Hall) and barns that we have produced floor plans and elevations of throughout Gloucestershire. I wonder how many of our 3000 surveys we have completed will have been in Gloucestershire ?
