About Us
Company Background
In 1990 A D Horner Limited was established which has grown and developed, but never left it’s core values of professionalism and excellence in the end surveying product. This is why the companies’ first clients from 1990 are still clients today.
Andrew Horner BSc (Hons) Dip. Land Surv
Survey Director
Following four years of University theory training Andrew worked for John Laing, where he learned to be the ‘eyes and ears’ on site for the designers who never left their offices ! More than twenty years later this ethos still sets apart every drawing produced by A D Horner over and above those of our competitors. Although Andrew
does not undertake many surveys these days he ensures he remains in touch and up to date with technology by undertaking a few land surveys and measured building surveys each year.
Debbie Horner BSc (Hons)
Operations Director
Debbie is a qualified professional with wide ranging experience in terms of business and management, both in the public and private sector. With over ten years experience in project management, she ensures clients are kept informed of progress and that agreed deadlines are met. Although not a surveyor by profession she has assisted with land surveys and measured building surveys on many occasions.
Our Staff
Many of our staff have been with us for a number of years and each has particular expertise, whether in large scale land survey projects, drawing ornate measured building elevations or using GPS. We are able to draw on this wealth of experience to match skills to site.
We believe in developing our people to their full potential, by offering a combination of external courses and in-house training, with junior staff working along senior surveyors.
Typically a land surveyor will have had several years of experience as a junior surveyor before we let them loose to undertake their own land surveys. Drawing floor plans and elevations require a large amount of training, even if this is an area of work where the surveyor already has some experience.
